In order to provide a safe construction environment, construction engineers and employers must understand the safety requirements of the Occupational Safety and Heath Administration (OSHA). This handbook provides a brief introduction to health and safety information and standards for employers, supervisors, and safety managers. This book highlights the safety standards that are most frequently overlooked by employers and the standards that apply to hazardous situations, especially those that would be found in construction environments. Overviews of each standard are presented alphabetically. A brief discussion is also given to the essential components of an organizational health and safety program, including key points to remember when planning employee training.
